Fashion with Sprinkles on Top

My beautiful friend Gabbie wrote a post dedicated to DUJOUR, an awesome fashion magazine jammed packed with chimera, whimsies, and you guessed it...cupcakes!

I appreciate that DUJOUR moves in the same lines as Frankie and Lula Magazine, showcasing a lifestyle that is stylish and carefree, but also presenting it in a way that is creative and expressive. They are the perfect example of the notion that you should create what you would like to see if you don't see what you're looking for, elsewhere!

After flipping through their online magazine, I know that I would love to see more of them! There's nothing better than indie mags! They showcase artists that we would never have seen, and whom the more mainstream mags may be a little hesitant about showcasing. Plus, any mag that manages to include a Llama in a fashion spread, gets my unadulterated sparkling stamp of approval!

  1. Ah, I love this post! I like the fact too that Dujour is American. I wish I could afford Lulu and Frankie, and even Dujour! But :(

    I missed the Llama...somehow?

  2. Aww, I love and agree with everything you said. Independent magazines are such a treasure! It's nice to see their covers - free from gaudy, superfluous text jammed around an all-too-familiar face - and content that's fun, whimsical and easy to relate to. Much as I love high fashion and its magazine counterparts I also love the gentle nostalgia and pure human element that comes with an indie mag. I just wish they were a bit more affordable, like Gabbie said. Of course it's worth it to support the creators, but it's not always achievable for some of us. (:
