Hometown Glory: Ukulele Cover

After learning to play the ukulele for the last two weeks, I was so proud of my progress I had to provide and update here at Forelsket! Nikki (the uke) and I have been getting to know each other, and have become great friends and allies!

Enjoy, and leave comments because I would love to know what you think!

P.S: I have recently returned from Paris, and that post is coming in the next week or so! Can't wait to tell you guys of my adventures! Also, I've gone ahead and picked up Luella's Guide to English Style, so a review post will also be coming up, along with my Forelsket Spark interviews (being a grad student is a bit overwhelming, please forgive me for my glacial pace!).

Someone Like You- Adele

This is a brand new track off of Adele's new album 21 called Someone Like You! I'm in love with how she's doing little vignette documentaries about certain aspects of the record, it's totally lovely! Her home is such an artistic dream to me...very simplistic with little vintage items placed in interesting sections. Loads of light shining through! I would love for my house to look in many ways like an Anthropologie store, little baubles for door knobs and cabinet knobs, beautiful gobbets, tea cups with little watercolor paintings, all that awesome stuff!

If you haven't already, go out and pick up Adele's new album 21! It's very beautiful!

Studio Footage Video

Official Music Video

I gift you both versions of Adele's wonderful new song Rolling In The Deep! Both are beautiful, but I have such a love for the studio footage version. There is something so beautiful about an artist in their workspace. On and off point, documenting my time in Wales with my flip camera has revealed a desire in me to document moments in gorgeous ways through film. The studio footage inspired that side of me! Who's eagerly awaiting 21 (Adele's new album out February 22, 2011)? I am! She's coming to Manchester next year, and I'm so excited that if I wanted to, I could go!

Artist Showcase: Adele

I remember Itunes luring me in that come hither motion, to try out Adele's now hit song, Hometown Glory, a few years back. I absolutely adored it. I felt her voice sounded like a spoken word artist! Adele has one of those special voices filled with earth, and poetry. You can hear the experiences she's had seeping from her voice. It's also lovely to hear someone that hasn't been digitally synthesized. I also love her style! I tend to draw closer to artists with retro, eclectic styles.  My favorites from her first album 19 are: Melt My Heart To Stone, Hometown Glory, Daydreamer, Feel My Love, and Chasing Pavements.

The novel that I'm writing centers on music, and how it runs through each character, causing them to evolve, love, feel, and move through life dreaming. Adele is one of the artists who's inspired my work! She's one of those artists that make you more yourself, if that makes any sense! As opposed to making you want to be someone else, or covetous.

In this video, Adele talks of the creative processes of her new album!
